The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a popular and relatively easy trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal that takes you to the Poon Hill viewpoint, which offers stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range. The trek typically takes about 5-7 days to complete and involves hiking through some of the most breathtaking and beautiful landscapes in the world, including lush forests, terraced rice fields, and high alpine meadows.

The trek begins in the city of Pokhara, which is located about 200 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu. From Pokhara, you’ll take a short drive to the starting point of the trek, which is the village of Nayapul. From Nayapul, you’ll begin your trek to Ghorepani, a small village located in the Annapurna region.

As you trek through the Annapurna region, you’ll pass through a number of small villages and towns, each with its own unique culture and way of life. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with the local Gurung people, who are known for their friendly and hospitable nature, and learn about their rich cultural traditions and way of life.

The trek itself is relatively easy and can be completed by hikers of all fitness levels. However, the final ascent to Poon Hill, which sits at an altitude of 3,210 meters (10,529 feet), can be physically demanding. From the Poon Hill viewpoint, you’ll have stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range, including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, and Hiunchuli.

Along the way, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit several of the region’s famous landmarks and temples, such as the Temple of the Divine Madman in the village of Ghandruk and the sacred hot springs at Jhinu Danda.

As you make your way back down the mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to spend a few days in the city of Pokhara, where you can relax by the beautiful Phewa Lake and visit some of the city’s famous landmarks and temples, such as the World Peace Pagoda and the Bindabasini Temple.

Overall, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is an unforgettable experience that offers the chance to explore some of the most beautiful and remote regions of Nepal, while also experiencing the rich culture and traditions of the local Gurung people. It is a relatively easy trek that can be completed by hikers of all fitness levels, and the reward of reaching the Poon Hill viewpoint and experiencing the breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range is well worth the effort. So, it is a must do trek for all the adventure seekers out there.
