United Nations and Nepal

The United Nations (UN) is an international organization founded in 1945 with the goal of promoting international cooperation and resolving conflicts between countries. Nepal is a sovereign country located in South Asia, between China and India. It became a member of the UN in 1955. The UN has several agencies and programs that operate in Nepal, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). These organizations work on a variety of issues in Nepal, including economic development, education, health, and humanitarian assistance.
